Spazztet left for Cleveland around 1:40 PM CST on Sunday October 14. Our chariot was a white Ford Clubwagon with over 200,000 miles on it. It smelled of stale smoke and sported fuzzy dice on the rear view mirror and guitar picks on the dashboard.

We arrived in Cleveland at Shauna and Eric's place (friends from Oberlin) a little bit after 8 PM EST. The last time Spazztet rolled through Cleveland, we came so late that some band members didn't even get to meet Shauna and Eric. This time we all went out for dinner.

Upon returning to the house, Zach, Joe and George found spots on the couch and started to watch cable (a familiar site from the last tour). Shauna, Eric and myself went to Presti's to pick up some of their amazing donuts.

Although the band members loved the donuts, I would receive a lot of ridicule because I had bought a lot of them to deliver to my friends in NY and we weren't due in New York for another 4 days. So the van started to smell a bit like donuts (I didn't get the idea of transfering them to a ZipLock bag until Thursday morning) and they wondered why I thought stale donuts would make a good gift. Things got worse, not better, when I told them that you could de-stale-ify a donut by refrying it in butter.

After much channel surfing, Spazztet settled on Aliens II. "Game over, man.. Game over," became a common refrain on the rest of the trip. I went to sleep before the movie was over.
